Background
Holger Erchinger is an Audit partner in the IFRS Group in
KPMG’s National Office in New York. Holger has 15 years of
experience in serving different companies on audit, audit-related
and consulting engagements (SEC registrants with US GAAP and IFRS
financial statements) in KPMG’s operating offices in Munich and
Berlin (1996-2002 and 2005-2008) and with Ernst & Young (1994-1996).
Between 2003 and 2005 he had worked in KPMG’s National Office in New
York in the SEC, Accounting and Practice Advisory Group.
Professional and Industry Experience
Holger is currently working in the IFRS Group with KPMG’s
National Office in New York. His duties include consultation on a
variety of IFRS related accounting, reporting and audit issues,
reviews of IFRS financial statements, and development of firm’s
guidance and publications. Holger has worked primarily for clients
in consumer and industrial markets, manufacturing, information and
communication, and service industry.
Representative Clients
Representative clients include: Siemens, SGL Carbon, CapGemini,
Deutsche Post, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Whirlpool, Milacron
Academic Experience and Publications
Between 2006 and 2008 Holger had been a professor for IFRS at
Berlin School of Economics and published about 25 papers and studies
regarding IFRS, Convergence between IFRS and US GAAP, SEC related
IFRS rules and regulations, and International Auditing Standards.
These papers have been published in English and German language
journals such as World Accounting Report, European Accounting
Review, Die Wirtschaftspruefung, Zeitschrift fuer Internationale und
Kapitalmarktorientierte Rechnungslegung or Der Betrieb. In addition,
Holger had been teaching between 2000 and 2006 IFRS, Auditing and
Corporate Governance at the University of Munich, University of
Augsburg and University of Ingolstadt and has spoken on
international accounting and audit issues at many conferences.
