Professor Frezatti has worked in the Department of Accountancy and Actuarial Science of the University of São Paulo School of Business Administration, Economics and Accountancy since 1997.  He received his PhD in Accounting and Controllership (1996) and his MBA (1988) and his B.S. in Business Administration (1979) from the University of Sao Paulo. He spent post doctorate periods at the University of Illinois, at Urbana-Champaign School of Commerce and CIERA as a visiting researcher.
 
He has had more than 40 papers published in academic journals (Brazilian and international) and more than 50 papers presented in the congress in 19 different countries. Since 2002 he has had 11 articles published different international academic journals.  He is the author or co-author of several books including, Manual de elaboração de orçamento empresarial, Gestão do fluxo de caixa diário ,Orçamento empresarial: planejamento e controle gerencial, Gestão de valor na empresa: uma abordagem abrangente do valuation a partir da contabilidade gerencial, and Gestão da viabilidade econômico-financeira de projetos de investimentos.
 
He was designated to coordinate the Graduate Program in Accountancy and Controllership for the periods 2002-2004 and 2005-2006. His teaching interests primarily include accounting and financial topics of investment projects, and advanced management control. He serves as the elected head of the Department of Accountancy and Actuarial Science for the period 2006-2008.
 
He was elected in 2006 as the first president of the ANPCONT (Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Contábeis), The Brazilian National Association for Accounting Graduate Programs. In 2007 he was elected again for the 2008-2009 term. He is a member of the editorial board for Accounting Education: An International Journal and several indexed Brazilian journals. He is also recognized by the Brazilian National Research Council as academic researcher. He currently serves as a Vice President for the IAAER.
