Richard Wilson has pursued a career in which he deliberately set out to span boundaries – whether geographic, disciplinary or academic/practitioner. As a practitioner of management, marketing and accounting he has worked in the UK, Egypt and the USA  (in executive roles within multi-national and public listed companies, as well as in consulting roles).

Over more than 35 years he has been actively engaged in educational policy-making on a national and international basis in ways which seek to link academic education with professional training in an aligned manner. This has been via the AAA, ACCA, BAA, CIMA, EAA, IAAER, IAESB, ICAEW, and  IFAC.

As an academician  he has held posts in Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Mauritius, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the UK.

 In disciplinary terms, he has held professorships in:

·        Management Control
·        Marketing
·        Strategic Management

 He holds academic as well as professional qualifications in these fields, is the recipient of two Lifetime Achievement Awards, and is a member of the Hall of Fame of the British Accounting Association.
